We love our home here in Colorado (after all, bosco is Italian for forest!) and we want it to remain beautiful for generations. That's why we take extra steps to make sure we are doing what we can to keep our business green. Here are some ways Bosco Baking Company is leading the way toward a more earth conscious future:
We bake and deliver wholesale product on real sheet pans and exchange them with our customers on delivery. By simply doing this we prevented over 300 "disposable" pans from going to the landfill in 2018.
Instead of buying boxes for smaller products, we deliver items in re-usable containers or re-use food packaging boxes. Just one re-usable container saves over 100 boxes per year!
We recycle all of the packaging from our raw ingredients, including our gluten flours, eggs, and butter.
Buying in bulk helps cut down on packaging and additional trips to the store.
We work exclusively with local companies (see our partners page!) in the Denver area and combine delivery days, greatly reducing the environmental cost of shipping and long distance delivery.
Our product labels are printed on earth-friendly paper with soy inks.
We buy used equipment whenever possible. Not only is this more cost effective, it keeps the equipment out of the landfill and happily baking with us instead. Now doesn't that sound much more delicious?
Need eggshells? As you might guess, we go through a lot of eggs! If you are a gardener who swears by using eggshells in your compost or to deter pests- we've got you! Email us if you are in the Denver area and interested in some eggshells. All of our eggshells come from cage free brown eggs.
